As I run into problems, I will post the solutions here.

1. After the upgrade, several users were unable to log in. They received a PWE Runtime error, Automation error. The object involked has disconneded from its clients.

The problem was they were hitting enter after keying their password. They did not select a company--it was showing blank. 7.6.300 "remembered" the last company used. 7.6.400 does not. You have to make sure you select a company.

I believe this is only in the Pervasive environment as was reported as a bug but not corrected yet. If you tab through the company field, it works fine.

Yes, we are running Pervasive SQL 8.5 and Netware 5.1 SP6. So all readers should keep this in mind as they review this "issues and fixes" posting.

#2 Inventory Location File -- Part # Field, if you are changing numbers, the number disappears. You cannot back space and say, change the last two digits. Everything disappears. Not a big deal, just was faster keying in new parts the old way.

#3 Print Screen - all my reports that I send to screen are now a small appx 4x4, I have to scroll to see the information. But it is just one printer Dell 3000cn. Again, not major - just aggravation.

#4 OE - Invoice unit price displayed to 2 decimal places truncates remainder
If the unit price of the item is 1.9454, the invoice prints the unit price as 1.94 if the decimals is set to 2.

The extended net amount is correct (it calculates based on all decimals).

We have had customers to see the rounded price and think they are being charged incorrectly even though the invoice is correctly extended.

You can follow this on the customer portal: bug#15.144.666
It looks as though it was reported in earlier upgrades, but we were behind a few and just noticed it in this one.

If you are pricing items out to 4 places, wouldn't you set the number of decimals to 4? Even if it rounds correctly, it's still showing the wrong price.

It doesn't matter how many decimals you put into the form, the "bug" causes it to round to two decimals when printing on the invoice. In our experience, the calculation of the net price is correct (example: 1.942 price @ 200 pieces will show $388.40 on the invoice even though the price printing on invoice will be 1.94 which would really extend to $388.00).

We updated from 7.6.300 to 7.6.400 and have found the following issues.

1.) BIN NUMBER search now shows historical list of bins, apparently we had a custom search and needed to do a search edit and add qty_hand > 0. It now shows only bins with quantity on hand.

2.) Most Disturbing!! - PWE profiles were changed, some had access to new modules and those that had module access can no longer access them.
Resolve - Contacted Macola and they said they new of the problem, would of been nice to post it in Hot Topics. Work around is to go into VM Builder and Customize, remove the current module and copy new on from Supervisor account. This takes alot of time when you have 70 user accounts.

3.) Experiencing Lock Ups in Inventory Transfer screen when Multi Level is opened before finishing transaction. Appears it causes a problem with VBMAC.EXE going into a loop.
Resolve: Need to kill VBMAC.exe Process and start again, will be submitting to to Macola and hope for a patch.

Still waiting for them to provide a nice easy to read report that lists all user profiles and modules they have access to. This would help greatly to keep and have on hand during an update and to validate software after update.

Good Thread please keep it going!

Interesting because I have two clients that are experiencing lockups / hanging during order entry and order billing. Usually when it goes to another screen like the billing selection screen or the 3rd page in order billing. In their case, the vbconn gets up to 50% of the local processor and has to be ended. Sometimes, you can wait 15 to 30 minutes and it will free itself up but that's not really the answer. I've worked with support for a few days on it and we haven't found the issue yet.

#5 AR "No more trx for this document on File"

When you try to reapply Tranactions, this is the message you get. you can no longer apply to zero to make it "active" again so you can reapply to another invoice/debit.

Doc ID 01.400.684 only muddied the issue in my mind, so I opened a case with Macola. I was advised to wait for the new .dll that would be released in SPA.

I agree, as trying to do what 01.400.684 sounded like a potential disaster when reconciling the aging to the ledger.

#5A - Fix now available.

Go to customer portal and find document 14.879.506. Download the fix and run. Users must be out of Macola.

#6 - 7.6.400 installs the .NET 2.0 Framework, we are now seeing many stop errors in many systems application log.

Does anyone have a workaround on this one?

TIA
