I recently upgraded a Mitel 3300 MXe with PRI trunks to 5.1 SP2

All seemed well with the IP extensions at first then I started getting reports of low volume on external calls only after the upgrade. It sounds like a padding issue on the digital trunks but I wouldn't have a clue where to look on this switch to modify the padding...any ideas?

or the phones have reset their volumes low during the upgrade and they just need turning up again....

Did you do the load ip device after the upgrade if they are not 53XX series?

Does this system have an E2T card?

If so, did you do a "upgardebootrom all"

Check the form Hardware Compute Cards to confirm the RTC and E2T cards have the same firmware. If they don't, you may well experience odd issues with TDM devices.

Thanks for the replies...the internal volume is fine, but after the upgrade external calls are significantly lower where they have to constantly readjust their volume, so yes they have adjusted the volume.

All phones are 53XX series and they were all above 1.4 firmware before the upgrade and all downloaded the new firware and are working. They are working through phybridges.

I don't think it has an E2T card...I don't remember installing one in this system...I used the software installer tool to upgrade and I don't recall seeing that option before upgrade. I will check the firmware, though.

If you are not sure, just do the UpgradeBootrom ALL command.

All MXe's have an E2T. They come with 64 E2T channels. If you want to go to 128 E2T channels you add the additional E2T card. I would do the UpgradeBootrom all that has already been suggested. You don't say the method of connection. If an NSU you want to make sure it did an upgrade as well.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

I'm assuming the upgradebootromall will force a system reboot?

No, "upgradebootrom all" will not force a reboot, but it will tell you if a reboot is required to apply a firmware update to the hardware so you can schedule it.

I did the upgradebootromall command and it came back saying there is no E2T in the system.

Any ideas what else could cause the volume discrepancy since the upgrade?

What card is being used to connect the PRI? T1 combo card, Dual Framer, NSU?

It has a Dual Framer...it worked fine until the upgrade.

Ok, I thought I had heard of issues with the T1 combo card on a recent software update, but I don't know of anything on the dual framer.
