Hi Everybody,
I have a bit of a problem. We have deployed a vMCD this week on 7.1.

I have configured the MSL and it is licensed and talking to the AMC.

However... It asked for an IP for The MCD before it would start (fine I know)
Put that in and tried to start but it sits saying applying licenses pretty much forever.

When I look in the log it seems to be going round in circles applying and fails with not much of a reason.... Then starts again???

Any help would be great.

Thanks peeps.

Does your AMC ARID Actually have a VMCD license on it

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

and due to an endless stream of MiCollab , MiCC issues
Life would be simpler If only they tested products properly before releasing them .....

Yes, It's been an ARID that's been upgraded to a vMCD.

Someone has to learn how to do it!

its defiantly a license issue I just don't know what it is? Here is some of the logs. this ARID is part of a GARID.
is it possible that this ARID doesn't have a base pack and there for doesn't have any users?

is this deployed on vmware and did you deploy the Ova ?

have you tried releasing the arid from msl and AMC and trying afresh sync
"Yes, It's been an ARID that's been upgraded to a vMCD. "

how was this done ?

was the previous arid an enterprise system and you have added the virtualisation license to it ?

It is deployed on VMware from an OVA.
The ARID was clear when I started I can try and clear again and do a fresh sync.

it is enterprise and yes it has had the virtualisation license added.

Cleared the AMC and re-did the service link.

Re-licensed MSL again ok but still I get the same when starting the vMCD up.

Yes. MSL is licensed fine but the vmcd doesn't start.

Mitel have suggested that this might be down to AMD processors that are not set to High performance in the bios.
however they are Intel Xeon processors and they are. They are now looking into the Java linklayer

i would try same arid on a different ova version , is the MCD IP address within the same network as the MSL

I have tried v7.1 and v7.0 and both versions do the same.

It is within the same network.

Software Assurance?

I had this exact issue on a system where SWA had expired.

yeah good point

So today.... I deployed the vMCD onto a standalone VM server we have for testing things. After getting the apps record cleared for the 4th time (yep now I have to ask support to clear it for me)

Guess wat........

Worked no problem. Licensed and came up fine. So... Licenses are fine, SWA doesn't run out for over a year. What can be wrong with there VM environment that is stopping the Java layer from starting??????

Someone has to learn how to do it!

Are you deploying it or is someone else

When you deployed did you do so to the same esxi version or same level ?
make sure they are not upgrading the vmware tools on it
