Yesterday we had a power outage at the site which hosts our Voicemail pro server. I reconfigured the VPN and it is up but now when I try to log in to voice mail Pro, it shows the IP address of the server but doesn't log in and says <no name> (0.0.0.0). I am attempting to log in locally to the server.

The IP Office is in the other location and the VPN is up---and it was working perfect before. I have OneX Portal on the same server and that is up and can be accessed from the other location.

My voicemail pro won't seem to log in correctly. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a few things. One, make sure you are online, not offline, with the client.

To to file, login, and make sure you are logging in locally.

Are vm services working?

No voicemail services are not working. Also checked and I am online when trying to login.

Also I can ping the address of the IP Office on the remote side

Is this a 7.0 or 8.0 VM pro? This might not be the same issue, but there seem to be an issue with them that makes them act like this when IPO or server is rebooted.
First up, check the VM pro service and make sure it is running. Then call in and see if VM is up and running. You may need to reboot the server. A backup of the configuration may come in handy as well.

So...vm is not working. Did you check that the vm service is started?

It is a release 8 IPO. I did try to restart services, with no luck.
I do have a backup of the configuration. I will try a reboot.

What happens when you start the service? does it start or give you an error. we see this a lot when the password gets changed for the user that the service uses to start.

So the vmpro is at a different location then the ipo is?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You´ll probably get it working with a few reboots and importing the configuration. However, I hope to see a more permanent solution. At one customer where it happened for me the service stopped for no reason two days in a row after upgrading to 7.0. But of course, when I tried to get it in a trace the problem didn´t occur any more.

Yes it is in a different location. I rebooted the server and still nothing.

It is weird because my OneX Portal is working fine in the other location.

Why is it on a different location?
You must have forgotten something in the firewall or vpn.

different location because we just bought a new server to run it on, for salesforce integration---the other site is larger and the site with the IP Office, it's server is older and has too much running on it.

Was working fine before the reboot. My screen pops are also working fine right now in the remote site, so I am not sure it would be a firewall issue. Also running Cisco 881's on both ends and have no firewall configured on either.

Try a ping from system status to the voicemail server.

Did you check the service to make sure it is started? what happens when you try to start it?

we usually set the services to restart automatically if they fail. this way if the service stops for some reason it will try to restart.

Then restart the service and the ipo.

Ok what is weird is that I think it is logging in, I can see my config. But the,no name. (0.0.0.0) exists in the client.

Then you are offline.
Go to file and login.

Or the ipo is not connected.
