Hello All,

I configured a jumpstart server ( the server is in the same subnet as the client) and gave boot net - install in the client.

The client boots up shows the banner and then displays error:

cant read disk label
cant open disk label package

and then goes to OK prompt.

What could be the problem? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sep22ph;

On the server you edited /etc/ethers and etc hosts and put you client info?

You ran the add_install_client command on the server?

Did you run the check command in your jumpstart profile dir?

make sure the nfs deamons are running on the server

#ps -ef | grep nfs
daemon 228 1 0 May 30 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/nfs/statd
root 229 1 0 May 30 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/nfs/lockd
root 4268 4263 0 21:58:30 pts/2 0:00 grep nfs
root 486 1 0 May 30 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/nfs/mountd
root 488 1 0 May 30 ? 1:33 /usr/lib/nfs/nfsd

if you probe-scsi on the client is the drive seen?

If you have a solaris OS cd boot cdrom -s and run format to see if the drive is ok.

What model system is the client?

Is the drive in slot 0 on the client?

Do you have a spare drive you can replace the current drive with and see what happens when you boot net - install

Thanks
