Issue with Fax line ringing on sales staff phone

I am new to Nortel ICS. I have been doing a lot of research on this but this was kind of dumped on my plate I have to admit I am not sure what I am doing. Maybe someone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

We have a fax line that has a fax number. The fax is working trough the merredian ATA2 and is connected to computer via a modem. The fax works all fine however on some of the sales staff phones the phone rings when someone tries to send a fax. If the sales pickup the phone then obviously the fax does not go trough. How can i disable the fax from ringing on the sales staff phone. I have no acess to the terminal. We are using the M7310 phones. I am trying to manage the system via the phone.

Does the fax require an access code such as 9?
Are they forgetting to dial 9?

You could go to Capabilities and under Hotline External see if 9 is used.

Suggest:
Set/LineAccess/PrimeLine = Pool X
Set/Capabilities/Hotline/Ext/Use a Pause (F78)

You may need a tech if you have no idea what I said.

no clients are sending fax from out side, it all works but the fax line also rings on sales staff phones. If they dont pick up the phone then the fax will work but if they answear the phone the fax will not work.

Dial 9 would be if the sales staff was trying to send a fax,. Sales people just answear the phone becouse its ringing. We have more then one line so they dont know that its the fax line that is ringing on their phone.

I need to stop the sales persons phone from ringing when somone from the out side is trying to fax in, so that the computer pick up the fax instead of the sales person answearing the call and geting fax noises.

yeah my question is how can I do that?

I assume its under line acess one of the lines on there is the fax line that is set to ring and appear? and I need to make it unasigned ?

If you still want the end users to have access to the fax line when it's not in use then just change it to appear only. If you want the line to not be accessed at all then remove it from the phones totally. You go to Terminal and Sets, line access, find the fax line number and change it. Piece of cake...
