Issue with Cap not getting power

I have 2 cap attached to 2 seperate 7324 an the 7324 will powerup but the cap will not. I punched the power supply down to the station an still no powerup.
Not sure if im doing this right im new to this equitment
Could someone plz break it down how the 24v power should be punched down an if there is a certain pinout i should use on the phone jack an what cables is needed to go from the jack to the phones an cap.

The power goes to pins 3 and 6. The DN to 4 and 5. If you unfamiliar with Norstar you should call a vendor because you could cause damage if wired incorrectly.

bkrike is referring to an 8 conductor jack

the innermost pair - phone
the next surrounding pair - CAP1
the next surrounding pair - CAP2

there must be a wiring diagram with a CAP module

Im still having a problem getting power to the cap the 7324 will power on but cap does nothing. I have a nortel power supply with - + punched down on the block an from the station end i have the power punched down to 3&6 an DN to 4&5 using a 4pair jack. If anyone can see what's wrong could u plz give me a hand wit this very appreciated..

Make sure your using a 6 wire jack and using the 6 wire block cord that came with the cap power supply.Also check that you have 24 volts at the jack by using a volt meter,if not you may have to replace the wire.

Could be a bad second pair on the cable to the desk location.

Check the power supply at the power outlet with a meter. You may have a bad power supply. Should be 24 volts DC across it.The pinout is also in the FAQ section of this forum.

This morning I change the jack to a new 6 conductor jack an the same issue. An also I used the volt meter to check to see it any volts was getting to the jack an i was getting a read, I also tested @ the power supply an was not getting a read i had another power supply it wasnt new but it also wasnt getting a read. It's looking to be an issue wit the power supply but i was thinkin what are the odds of 2 power supplies being bad an wasnt sure how easily they go bad, an it could be possible the meter is broke. After reading DMAC reply maybe it could be the power supplies are bad do they go bad easliy.
Im gona try some things tommorrow but please if there is any other sugestions would like to hear them.

Make sure the polarity is correct when you tie down the power supply. It should be negative to the ring side of the jack. One power supply will run two caps we usually tie the power down on the white/orange pair and white/green pair. So the negative side from the power supply would go to the ring side of each pair and the positve side to the tip side.

You plug the wire from the wall into the CAP and plug the CAP into the Phone.

I just did this last week. You should be able to plug the 24v supply into the outlet and take the two wires from the supply to the punch-down.

I don't think it's polarity sensitive but I went negative to 3 and positive to 6. As I recall, the CAP has a bridge array to deal with polarity.

In case the person isn't that technical, that would be the third and fourth position (normally orange) on the punch-down ... just below where the two wires normally punched to the jack (normally blue).

Thanks for all the feedback guy, The issue was the power supply was fried. I replaced an all is good..
