I am connecting to an ORACLE database using ODBC. This database has a TON of tables in it, and I can't see them all in the database explorer.

Is there a limit to how many tables will display?

I can't recall the limit, but there is.

They typically don't measure it by weight tho ;)

You can limit the objects returned in two ways, and they're often a good idea anyway:

In the database explorer->dtaabase tab:

Table name like %
Owner like %

Set those to get a more managemable list, the % is a wild card.

Hmmmm...so you don't think it's the 1 ton limit in effect?

By the way...thanks for the tip with the wildcards. I was able to search for the table name I wanted, add it to the report, search for the next, etc.

I appreciate the info.

Not sure, did you mean Imperial ton, or?

Glad it worked out.

The Owner might be of use as well, place the database.schema% in there.

Yah, I am viewing that schema/owner only. There are still too many tables to display.

Ouch... Sounds like Lawson or some such...

Well you have a method now, an alternative might be to have the dba set up a reporting user with permissions that limits tables to some applciable subset.
