I am using the 3.0.1.24 version of the PBX Maintenance Console and after we added the card, there is a fault-unacc error on the slot page. I do not see the IP-EXT4 in the list of available cards to install, but the manual does show this as an acceptable card for this KSU model. The KSU is registered to my knowledge and we do not receive the ROM ID pop-up upon connecting with USB (was told that was indication of an unregistered system)

Do you have any suggestions on how to remedy?

Possible scenarios I am pondering:
1) Card is bad
2) My software is old and there was a newer release that adds this card type
3) It has been too long since I have worked with panasonic kd-tda systems!!

Thank you in advance!

fault-unacc" - Register the ystem
Use later version of the Maintenance console - What version is the KX-TDA50 on?

I am using the PBX Unified Maintenance Console 7.8.2.0, but this includes 7 versions for TDA50. When I connected via USB, the console window reported version 3.0.1.24 and this leads me to believe the TDA50 is at 3.0.1.24

That should be fine then.
7.8.2.0 is OK
I think the latest version is now 7.8.2.1

Register the system

Could there have been a different card installed in that slot before?

Not to my knowledge. If I power down and remove the card, then connect and view slots, it is empty and there is no fault condition.

I then tried to add the card to programming before installing the card, but again, I don’t find the card type in the list. The only one I see that is close is the IP voip gateway card. I did try adding that one, but the same fault occurred. Because the card type doesn’t match what I am installing, it makes sense to me that I would see a fault under that specific scenario.

What card part number are you adding?
Some cards go in specific ports.

Board Type is IP-EXT4 and it also has a silk screen that says KX-TDA3470/5470. This is a large card and I installed it into slot 5 on the TDA50

Getting closer. The root of the problem is the ksu firmware is not high enough. Currently at v3 but it would appear that the card was introduced with v4 and this is why it is unrecognized and not in the available card options. Now, trying to track down v4 firmware.

Let me check if i have version 4 for you. I think latest version i had in my archive for KX-TDA50 was version 6

Thank you. Yes the latest is v6 from what I see in the maintenance console install. Is there a reason not to migrate from v3 to v6? Are there potentially breaking changes that would disrupt the existing programming or potentially require other card updates as dependencies?

I don't seem to see the V4 in our archive.
Only 6 is available but need permission from my boss to extract.

I don't think there is a problem with migrating from 3 to 6 except you may need to re-register the system.
Do you have the registration file?.

After upgrading to 6, you will need to use a version of Maintenance console that enables you to access Ver6

The maintenance console software I have installed does work with v6. I do not have the original registration file -- we are the third firm to work on the project. My assumption is that it can be re-registered using the ROM ID.

I am not sure if anyone here knows how to download the registration file from a registered system
