Dear Members,

Can anybody enlighten me as to what UR stands for and how locks are handled at the isolation level when this option is chosen in a cursor declaration as opposed to CS or RR?

Thanks in advance for any assistance given.
 
Hi WW,
ISOLATION(UR) will perform an Uncommitted Read, sometimes known as a dirty read. This will obtain data that has not been committed and may subsequently be backed out. It is therefore treated with caution.
