Hello All,

My copy of Installshield Express Visual FoxPro Limited Edition is requesting that I provide a "unique and valid serial number" before it will run.

There is not a number anywhere on the VFP8 CD sleeve or box or paperwork that is accepted as valid. Where should I be looking? Do I need to register at a web page? If so, what is the URL?

TIA,
Randy Bosma

Yes, I did, and was hoping that someone here had a similar experience and could point me in the right direction.

Did you try the VFP serial? I installed it for VFP7, but that was a while ago. I don't remember anything tricky. I do know that the limited edition would push you to buy the full version... but I assume you haven't gotten that far yet.

Thanks Ali and Brian for the suggestions. An uninstall followed by a reinstall solved the problem.
Apparently something had conviced my installation that it was the real thing and not the Limited Edition that goes with VFP8, so it kept asking for the S/N as proof of registration.
The reinstalled program runs with no problem, and the Hentzen article from FoxTalk on the MSDN website is a useful gem.

Thanks,
Randy Bosma
