Has anybody any experience (good or bad) of ISDN30 via microwave.

Is there any latency, drop out issues to be wary of?
How is it for sending FAX/data over ?

Have an office that Telco say they are going to use Microwave to deliver service. I am a little concerened.

the things to worry about are more geographic in nature

1) does it rain heavily (water absorbs microwave energy & this has been know to disrupt service in extreme cases)
2) are there any trees near by, Microwave is line of sight, it may be fine in the winter but if there are trees nearby when leaves grow back they may block the signal
3) delivery vehicles, I know of at least one cans where the cust lost service every Friday afternoon when delivery truck stopped at the security gate with the weeks shipment.

if you have to go microwave make sure the dish is located high up with a clear line of sight to the receiver & their is no danger of a temporary blockage.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Cheers.
Site is in South Africa. So does get a bit damp at times.
At our end the dishes are on top of a building. No guarentee what the telco has.
