Hello,

I have a problem.

I need to connect 2 MD110 with ISDN.
This is on a railroad where the they like to have there own transmission.

If I have a TLU76 (30B+D)
there is a limit of the cables stated in Alex:
- 180 m if using a 75 ohm coax. cable without repeater.
- 260 m if using a 120 ohm twisted pair cable without repeater.
The line length needed is about 14 Km.

Now I do not know about repeaters for ISDN,
is there anyone that knows things about this.
Where can I find these repeaters ?

If there's an IP network you might consider using IP trunks or the Ericsson HL950's.

Otherwise do an internet search for ISDN repeaters, there's a lot of info out there...

Good luck :eek:)

you say that the 2 md110's are 14km apart. The network providers link will be amplified so no need for repeaters. The repeaters were only to be used in the case of a local connection.

regards

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

use mono fiber with rad modems, best and cheapest solution imho...

Thanks for all the input so far.

The only problem is that there is no way to user fiber
but there is cupper cables that can be used.

You may like to explore any of the following:

- SHDSL modems in 2-wire or 4-wire mode with one or more SHDSL repeaters (Lucent Cellpipe, Verilink Wansuite, RAD LA-110, etc);

- HDSL modems in 2-wire or 4-wire mode (Nokia, Pair Gain systems, etc);

- Use recovered PCM Digital Line Terminals as being disposed of by carriers;
