I need some help with my isdn connection. We just got a backup isdn bri line for our company, just in case our T1 goes down.

At the demarc I have a pair of wires. I'm not sure what pins on the rj45 they are supposed to go into.

I did some looking around on the web and I see that you are supposed to use 4 pins. Now I only have a 1 pair on wires so that would mean I can only use 2 pins and I'm not sure which ones to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You get 1 pair (2 wires) from the telco. Then you connect ISDN TA (terminal adapter) to the pair and it does the conversion to 2 pairs (4 wires). The pins used between demarc and TA are 2 center ones (4 and 5 for RJ45), but you can wire them to a RJ11 or RJ12 jack also, it is still 2 center ones. Cable is straight-through between demarc and TA.
So, you get:
DEMARC <--> RJ11/RJ12/RJ45 jack (center pins) <--> RJ11/12/45-to-RJ45 straight-through cable <--> TA (such as Cisco 800 series) <--> RJ45 ethernet connection (2 pairs).

Good luck.
