There is the table called ISDN PUBLIC-UNKNOWN by which you can mock up a Caller ID to send out. Obviously, you tell the table the extension that you want to create a Caller ID for, then program what you want it to send.

Here is my question. I want to dial in using remote access, and have the system sent out a Caller ID of my choosing. Trouble is, when you use Remote Access, the caller ID from the calling phone is what goes out on the outbound call -- there seems to be no way to have the system strip out the Caller ID of the phone dialing into Remote Access and substitute something else. Any ideas how to do this?

Thanks!
Joe

ISDN Public numbering does not change O/G CLI. It is for mapping inbound and internal numbers so the system knows what to do with them.
I don't know how other countries handle spoofed CLI, but in the UK you can't do this.

actually, it is used for changing the o/g cli. I do it for agents so that the call center number is displayed. Same with voicemail outcalling, i get teh pilot number to display.
You are correct that many countries you can only change the ddi to the ones you own with that provider.

Well you learn something new every day. :) Thanks.
I have never had cause to try this as in the UK we can't change CLI, only the networks can do this, I believe due to public protection rules.

if you have say 300 ddi with BT, you can play around with any of those 300 ddi, so you can substitute sending out the main switchboard number, the voicemail pilot number etc etc.

However, if you have a second provider, say COLT, for resiliency, when you send calls out on that trunk, you cannot use the BT ddi's which is a PITA, only the ones owned by COLT.

Its legal restrictions for spoofing and i would imagine 999 calls.

I wonder if Joe could get around his problem by using the EC500 extension/cellular mapping feature. Would only be usefull if he is always going to use the same (or one or two different ones)eternal line for calling into the remote access node. Get the switch to "know" about the number he is calling in from............
