hi

i want to set quad bri trunk on avaya 406
i have 2 isdn output with RJ45 with 2 wire cables

i put one 2 wire cable in nt1 unit, and i connect the nt1's isdn output(4 wire) to the avaya's quad bri port,

but when i dial outside it says disconnect,
and incoming calls always busy,

is there a way to configure isdn bri in this system.
avaya 406 version 3.2.55
i want to raise 4.0

is there a pdf about this subject
please help me

If you have installed the BRI card in the IPO and connect the wiring properly then it should work.
If you redefined the default incoming and outgoing line IDs then you will have to program the appropriate Incoming Call Route and Shortcodes for outgoing calling on these line IDs.

Run Monitor, enable all of ISDN as a filter and disconnect/re-connect the BRi, you should get some events back showing that the connection is OK.
Ring in on the line and then you should see the incoming call etc.

you say a rj45 in to the nt1 (the 2 wire)
this should be rj11 and is out in on the left side
the rj45 (4 wire) can be a normal patchcable
the bri card is autosense, you don't need to cross wires
like intrigrant says in default it should work
maybe change your incoming call route
just the line id and the destination filled in
this should work
monitor gives you information like intrigrant also said
even if the isdn is not working right is should give you info

It,s an rj11 in Holland;)

But seen strange things in other countries.

Rj45,coax,enz

Just make sure the output is an standerd cat5/cat5e cable then it will work out of the box.

are the bri trunk lights green ?
my bri lines arent green, they are unresponsive,
i think my problem is about lines, not ipo configs.
should i try 4 wire cable or just utp cable is enough.

An utp cable is enough and the light don,t have to be always green.
But it must be green if you make a call, because if its synct then it,s green.

Dordt schrijf je met dt en is wel mooi de oudste stad van holland en de op twee na grootste van ZH, as je't maar weet.
