ISA Server 2000 Installation error

I have a Windows 2000 Server which I tried to install ISA Server 2000.

All appeared to be going well, until I got the error message 'Setup cant set SMTP Properties, the error returned is -2146893809'

The MS ISA Server Control service is stopped, when I try and start it, I get the error 'Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or is marked for deletion'

Microsoft Web Proxy Service does not appear in the list.

I rebooted the Server, but it made no difference.

Can anyone help?
