I never had any problems related to my Isa server 2000 about ftp access, but now my clients needs more FTP access so my problem's that somes sites are working fine and some aren't working, they always time out after "List" command. If I try the same site from a DMZ zone, it's working fine. So before the ISA 2000 server it's working fine, but local client can't access some FTP site.

I'm able to access FTP trought the FTP command in the command prompt, this is working fine, but any ftp client in windows's not working ?

Any ideas ?

thank you,

Why it's working with the FTP command in the dos prompt ?

Can you explain why I can't make FTP access to some ftp site working with the ISA 2000 and ftp client in windows ?

Please, I need some help on this one...

So nobody have an idea about this ?

When you say FTP access... are you able to upload as well?? What errors are you getting?? Are you able to "connect" to some sites and not others?? Have you made sure that when using a client you try both Active and Passive mode?

I do tryed to used both passive and active mode. I'm able to connect to any FTP site, the problem's that the "list" command will timeout on somes sites. That said, If I use the "ftp command" from the dos prompt, it will always works, the listing will be working fine, everythings works fine, but if I use any ftp client, it will timeout on list command.

this sounds more like a software issue than ISA server at that point. It is very unlikely that the issue is with the ISA server if from the command prompt ftp from the same system you are able to do the list command without timeouts, but with software you are not able to do the list command. Have you tried using FileZilla?? I use that a lot and have had no real issue with it.

Have you tried talking to the providers of the FTP sites?? Maybe they are blocking the traffic your software creates but the DOS version does not?

I just uninstalled Filezilla, since it's the client I usually install on all stations here..

I installed another version, tryed to connect with "active mode" and it have connected without any problems...

Good... Glad to see the issue resolved... it sounded like a software issue :)
