Dear all,

I am install ISA in chace mode with one NIC. and then set the routing to use upstream server to another proxy server.
in the first day, the internet was very good connection.
but now the internet very slow and there is no error or alert is appears.
we have one proxy in another country, then we want to set this ISA as web chache and to control the local user only.

I have tried since 3 months ago but still can't solve this problem.

Does anyone can help me!

How is the server itself running? Have you checked the memory utilization? Does the NIC have enough speed to handle the traffic being sent through it? Do you have enough disk space? The ISA server has always ran well here.

Best wishes,

Dan

My server, P IV 2 GHz,512MB DDR, HDD 40GB (Disk Chache=10 GB,System=10GB..free space= 6 GB,another partiion 20 is not use)
I check the NIC, 100Mbps, and traffic never reach max of NIC.
Actually the server running is normal, I mean the speed also when opening application also normal, but when Browse the net is very slow.

Do you have the minimum requirement for ISa in chace mode?

dan, I forgot to tell you about our network configuration.
Our ISA is inside the VPN, here the config;

internet/ISP -------->>>>>>External Proxy
|
|
our Router
|
|
NOKIA IP 330
|
|
Switches 3com 100Mbps
|
|
Client and ISA is here, connect to switches 3com

The IP gateway for client and ISA server is point to NOKIA IP address.
We also have our own DNS server, in the same position.
If I go through to use our External proxy in IE Browser.
the speed is no problem.

thanks
nug

The speed issue seems it would be the cache retrieval speed on the ISA server. Instead of running multiple partions on a single drive, use addtional drives.
1 partition per drive:
- one drive can contain your system partition
- a second drive can be used to hold the cache only.

I have 1 old compaq proliant server with 1600+ clients running in mixed mode. I have one small array of disks used for the system partition and a second array that holds a 30GB cache file. Internet access is very quick.
