Hello all,

I'd like to be able to limit the amount of bandwidth one of our internal clients is able to use. The client has a static IP of 192.168.1.23.

Does the PIX 515E support this kind of functionality? If not, what could I do to limit the bandwidth usage?

Thanks!

Sam

I'm pretty sure that traffic shaping is not supported, even in Pix 7.0. Although, I may be wrong.

Hmm...bummer. Any other ways to limit bandwidth? Perhaps at the host level?

Sam

Put a router behind the Pix and do traffic shaping on that perhaps?

Chris.

Yea, I suppose that is the only way. You wouldn't happen to know if a Cisco 1700 Series router is capable would you? I happen to have a spare one laying around the office...

Sam

It should be with the right IOS. You'd have to have a look at the IOS features on cisco.com

You can have a look at Packetshaper from Packeteer
