I have a Nortel MM1 X11 with Meri. Mail. I would like to be able to take 4 extensions in a dept. and have them all CFWD to another extension in the Dept. which would be forwarded to its own Voicemail with a General Dept Message. These 4 phones all have their own personal VM now which we need to keep. Currently when I forward any of the phones to the Spare extension in the dept, it forwards fine, the Spare is already CFWD to its own VM, but when a call comes in to one of the 4 extensions that is forwarded to the Spare, it loops back to the original DN's VM and not the Group VM on the Spare Extension. Any suggestions on how I can get the Spare Extension VM to overide the original DN VM?
Thanks again,
Stephen

add sfa to the target sets, secondary call forwarding will let the number forward on to the forward target of the second station.. that gets it to voice mail, voice mail picks up the original dialed number.. magic happens and the world is safe from worm holes caused be software loops

I modified SFD to SFA on the 4 sets and the target set, Tested and confirmed still going to VM on original dialed DN and not the VM for the Shared office phone. Heres a snapshot of the Config for the destination/shared office phone. Any suggestions? My other phones are of similar config.. Thanks

Stephen

As johnpoole mentioned, your Meridian Mail will pick up on the originally dialed DN. That is the design intent of that system, to prevent people's messages from going to other people's mailboxes...

if you want the mail to go to a shared mailbox, you'll need to out the mailbox and put the exten in as ext on the shared mb..
