I can't find the native .dir file from an old project I'd like to make a change to.
Is there any way to open a director projector for editing in Director(7.02)? Maybe a third party conversion program or some other cool trick? I'm probably screwed at this point, but thought I'd ask.

as far as i'm concerned, I don't think that what you're talking about exists, I don't want to break it to you but I think you should re-do it :(

go and look for a tool called Swifty Xena Pro
it helps you extracting any .swf or .dxr from any .EXE proyector (flash and director)

then, all you have to do is getting the file back in director (you won't get the code back! just cast members and the score...)

i won't explain you how to get the .dir back.....
but it's VERY very easy to do it...
and using only director, not any other "3d party" programs

To add on DrkMX' helpfull information... You can Unprotect any *.Dxr or *.Cxt using a Free Public Utility called "dirOpener" that you can download at " You will loose all Scripts (because they're compiled), but you can get back all your Cast members and the Score... Of course this must be used for your own Application and for piracy...

Just discovered the writing MISTAKE I did... I wanted to say "NOT FOR PIRACY"..... Sorry
