I am designing a database for a group of users that use both PC's and Mac's. I know Access does not have a Mac version but is there another program that will run an Access database? Or any other work around?
File Maker Pro was one database that I used in a previous life on a Mac. Also, there was a Mac flavor of FoxPro at one time prior to Visual FoxPro. I really did not follow FoxPro after that.
"One of the most under-recognized, but extremely powerful Macintosh database software tools available, has received a major upgrade with enhanced speed and HTML integration. The new 6.5 version of 4th Dimension, the relational database tool from ACI US." from MacWorld (
Thanks for the quick response. Will File Maker Pro actually run an Access 2000 database? I have the database almost completed and now they want to run it on both Mac's and PC's...I looked on their website but I didn't see anything that stated this...
It has been many moons since I worked in a Mac shop, but I recall we we able to setup a ODBC type of connection to an external database, like Oracle. So, I have to imagine, they still have that capability or perhaps improved upon it. Steve Medvid
