It gave me good filling that there are more Programmer using Clipper.

I used Clipper since it was summer 86 till now CA-Clipper 5.3
But now Microsoft released Vista which not support My Program. So How we overcome this problem?

I am sure there are a lot of us older around and still looking to contribute to maintaining the Cl*pper legacy.

I also have used the language from Summer86 upto 5.2e with several libraies like Flexfile,Telepathy, LighLib & Blinker to name a few. I never moved up to 5.3 as I have all the capabilies I need in 5.2e.

I was a Flexfile user too! When memory and diskspace was small it really helped!

Again The main question is alive. How we survive if new OS from Microsoft will not support DOS based programs.

Did any one experimented with printer which is connected in USB port and having no Character ROM?

Switched to (x)Harbour & GTWVW, much better performance (32 bit), changable font sizes (wvw), nice-enough windowing (wvw), but no window maximizing (wvw), just like Vista won't allow you for any DOS program.

Works for me

I have s clipper program 5.2e Blinker 7 and I use fivewin 1.92 (very Old) for the windows look and feel but its a clipper program 16 bit. It works fine in Vista. What happens when you try to run your clipper app. in vista?
Vista does support DOS.

We don't have a vista workstation yet. What kind of problems are people having?

I switched to xHarbour to work in Windows and I use the same code of old Clipper 5.2.

I converted to Clip4Win about five years ago so that I could use Windows API's and OOP. Lately I've been looking into xHarbour and FiveWin, just haven't had the motivation to do anything yet. Still writing in the Clipper dialect though.

David.

Yes, been programmig in Clipper for the past 20 years, now using Flagship, a clipper clone on redhatr linux.

I still have customers that use my clipper apps in the US. Written in Clipper 5.2E with RTLINK as the linker.

However, i have moved all my apps (and new development) to FoxPro. Currently I'm using VFP9

Knowing that MS is going to end its support in 2015 and no more updates (SP2 was released couple of days ago), i am moving/learning .NET using C#.
