Is there an IGNORE button on this site?

No, it's a shame, but no ignore button...

Keep [Smile]ing

There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

I'm trying to cut down on the use of shrieks (exclamation marks), I'm told they are !good for you.

Steve,

Yes, there is an Ignore button. It's in the editing toolbar, slightly to the right of the Quote and Code buttons. And you can get the same effect by typing [ignore] tags round the relevant text.

But I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for. The button simply tells the system to ignore any formatting that you have applied to your text.

If you want a way of saying that we should ignore an entire post (and I can think of one or two recent cases where that would have been useful), then I am afraid you are out of luck. If you want a way of telling the world to ignore something you have yourself written, then you can of course always edit your posts - but only for a limited time after submitting them.

Does that help at all?

Mike

Thanks guys.

My intent was a rhetorical/sarcastic question regarding the poster (or any other for that matter) tempting people with possibly dangerous links.

Thanks to Mike, I learned there's actually an answer to my "rhetorical" question, which of course makes it NOT rhetorical.

Sorry about the ambiguity.

Steve

Steve,

You will be glad to know that "the poster tempting people with possibly dangerous links" has now been banished from the forum, and all his posts consigned to the landfill. This is partly thanks to the actions of yourself and several other conscientious forum members.

Mike
