Is there an external caracter finder for AutoCAD?

In windows is possible to use the search function to look for words inside of several words documents at the same time (without having to open them).

Is there some kind of application that allows me to do the same thing in AutoCAD files?

There is but you will at need to know AutoCAD programming to do it. It is called ObjectDBX.

they have a working library you can use with .net. you'll have to join the alliance, but it's free of charge if you won't use it for commercial gain.
