Have a lot of old data and programs on 5.25 floppies is there a external/internal drive that will work on a XP system?

5.25 inch floppy drives will work... IF a newer MOBO supports them and IF you can find a 5.25 inch floppy drive.

There are used 5.25 drives available made by some different makers. Witch drive would you recomment and what is MOBO, sorry I not sure what that is. Thank you, Frank4d.

Motherboard. And the comment is based on the CMOS being changed to reflect the different type of drive.

Does anyone make a USB external or a combo floppy, that has a 5.25 disk drive?

You should be able to read and write to them but you might have a hard job formatting a 5.25 in XP.

Floppy Disk Formats That Are Supported in Windows XP

Some of the old 386's used by the Pharaohs have a 3.5 and 5.25 floppy already installed and able to copy from one to the other. All you have to do is find one.

Combo drives will have to be used. Probably the 5" drives too.
You might try some computer repair shops. Suspect you'll find one that has taken in old systems for parts.
