Is there a way for a user to "block" his telephone so it cant be used by anyone until he returns? Its a T7316 connected to a CompactICS running 6.0.
Thanks for your posts, basiclly what the user wants is to use his phone normally while he's at his desk, but to be able to block it while lets say he goes out to lunch, so no other user can use his phone while he's out, and be able to return to normal operation when he returns, i've seen this feature on siemes systems i think ( the user enteres a function code and password and disables the phone ), not sure is there something like this on CICS.
This might do what you want:
Use restriction services -F872.
1. Set up a restriction filter to deny everything
2. Under the set restriction make Night service this filter
3. Under Services turn restriction service for Night to manual.
4. Under Control Set make his extension the control set for his own extension.
5. When he leaves he should then be able to dial F872 and put his extension in NIGHT SERVICE - the password is the system coordinator password --- this will not disable his phone, it will only restrict people from dialing out.
When he gets back just do the F872 again.
