is there away to hide a field in the layout, even tho you need it in the report, you just don't want it to show?>

Your question assumes you need it in the report. Why do you think it is needed? I am betting it is not needed.

Also, always include your crystal version on all posts, correct answers vary by version.

In any case, the literal answer to your question is to right click the field in question, select format field, common tab, and click the suppress checkbox.

However please post back as to why you believe this field needs to be on the report and we will explore this.

well my report is pulling all accounts in history that we've had. I ONLY need my active accounts pulling, so i made a field to only pull active acounts and all it says is true all the way down the page. i want to hide that field. thanks for the help

Hi,
Instead of using a formula in the report ( which I guess thet one the says TRUE is), use the same criteria in your record selection formula and get rid of the field in the report.

If absolutely needed for some odd reason, right-click on it, choose Format...Common..and check supress.

Turkbear is correct. You don't even need to create a formula field like this.
