is there a way to call a method before my ado data object updates?

I need to know how I can trigger a method to validate some user entered text (on a bound text box) before the update command runs on my adodc data control (ado 2.6)

I want to make sure the data is valid before its put into the database

Also I need to be able to stop the update if the data is invalid.

Hi,
Have you tried the validate method of the text control? It works quite well in these conditions. You can even set it so that it will stay in focus until the proper text is entered.
