Is there a way to incorporate a mini "program" like MS PAINT (or much much simpler) inside MS Access?

I meant to have a small 300x300 pixels "field" where the user of the can doodle something.

I have seen some databases out there with this feature.
There was this square "field" (with a permanent background image in some cases, empty in others) where the user marks or draws a few lines, and the db stores the doodling with the current record.

Perhaps via an ActiveX control?
Try looking at a search like this one.

Thanx kjv1611!
You gave me something to think.
(Although I am ...scared of ActiveX)

Yeah, I'm not too fond of using ActiveX in Access from the few times I've messed with it, but if it works and you can't find another method, then I figure it's worth a shot.

Any news on specific (and FREE!) ActiveX control?

I don't need much, a pen and an eraser!
For simple color doodling that can be saved with an Access Record.

P.S. Is it hard to program something like that, I wonder?

Why not create a small blank .bmp image and put that in a "tblDefaultImage". Then when creating a new record run a query to insert the blank image. On the form you would just click on the bound image control and you can work on the image. Not sure how this looks prior to 2007, but it is seemless in 2007.

Thank you MajP for your answer!

I am using Access 2007.

(Because I am newbie) I didn't get exactly what you meant...

I must create an attachment (thus the 2007 version)? Put the image there and open it with the default program (ms paint etc.)?
or I didn't get it at all... :-(

I think you can open paint within the Web Object Browser. It's been awhile since I used it (ships with windows). I don't have time right now to investigate how to set it up (pretty easy though). I've explained how to use it in a previous thread (a year or so ago). Again, I don't have time to search for it. But you might be able to find it.

Thanks. I will give it a try and see how it goes....
