Than dis your loops/dch's.If your switch is going to be down for a few hours, call your provider to alert them to the alarms, to prevent the "accidental" jumper/card removal in the co to shut of the alarms
Flip your switch

Personally I prefer to either unplug the system or turn off the UPS that it's plugged into.

The switches on the power supplies are bad about breaking.

First ensure you have the original software and current keycodes on hand.

Also, using TTY 0 do an archive of your database to a PCMCIA card.

Then follow pbxn's directions. While the switch is off, find a virgin to sacrifice to the Nortel gods. Pray....pray more....just kidding.

My first two steps are merely insurance in case it doesn't come back up cleanly. With the archive, software and keycodes if there are any issues, you can do a clean install and restore and be back up in an hour.

Well all this EDD, ArchiveDB, Software, Keycodes ++
is something that always should be at hand,
cause the switch can stop at any given time or day.
Say a poweroutage, Powersupply fault, somebody accidentaly
unplugging the powercord etc.
Then you dont have the opportunity to plan for it.
Make a "Disaster recovery kit" with a copy of each item
in it, and keep it handy.

On the other hand these switches shall handel such
cold-starts without any problem, but then again, you never know...

SHOULD be at hand.

If I had a nickel for every one of my customers who had this stuff on hand/site/in the same area code when I needed it, I would have about 22 cents.
