I have experienced several problems in Lotus 1-2-3 r5 running on Windows XP (home edition). I am affraid there are other problems that could create erroniuous data that might go undetected. Trying to choose a background color for a cell, will not display the color palatte is one such problem that I have encountered.

Can anyone tell me about the compatability of the two?

flight,

To my knowledge, a "patch" has not yet been reported.

However, there is an alternative. Please read thread68-429648

Try this (it has worked for several people).
Right click on a blank area of your desktop.Click on Properties. Click on the Appearence Tab. Click on Effects. Make sure all Effects are UNCHECKED. Click OK. Restart your computer and start Lotus. All color and line functions should be OK.

Thank you, thank you RICK6!!!

I've been looking everywhere for this fix to the color pallette!

Actually, I found that the only Desktop-Appearance-EFFECT tht you have to disable is the first one, "Use the following transition effect for menus and tooltips:"

That fixed my Lotus V5 instantly. Thanks again.
