is there a option box to turn off system restore prog?

hi i am struggling to find if there is such a option
the location of the system restore turning off button, i need to do this in order to remove a virus

Sorry folks having a bad week i posted a thread regarding removing the mimail, the pc in question is 2000 machine but i posted the thread in the xp forum
