Is there a DOS Command to find a user on the Network?

Does anybody know what [if any]there is a way to find a user on the network by IP or by username in DOS? Or in Computer management besides "connect to another computer"?

As always, thanks to all in advance.

ping? will return the machine name if you use -a switch ie
ping -a 0.0.0.0
