I can't get Hobo Copy to work.

Thanks!

I've had good luck with Cobian Backup. It also runs in my mind that you have to have .NET installed for shadow copy to work, too.

I don't know if this will help or not.

From i see it says:

Most users can simply unzip the file containing hobocopy.exe into the directory of your choice. However, HoboCopy uses the Visual C++ 8.0 runtime, which may not be present on some machines. If HoboCopy does not work for you, run the vcredist executable available from the same location you downloaded HoboCopy.

Tried Cobain Backup with shadow copy, got

ERR 2011-02-01 16:16 The source file "\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1\source\sourc1.pst" was not found

Volume Shadow Copy service is enabled and started.

Anything else that could be tried?

I can't download Hobo Copy.

Hmmm. Interesting. I've not encountered the error but I notice on Cobian's web site that others are getting this same error (see this and this for example. Doesn't seem to have a fix yet.

You can try this. The free copy works well for sync and backup. Been very useful when moving data from 1 server to another as if it hits a problem it carries on and tells you where the problem was rather than fall over.
