As the subject suggests my query is...

Is the MCDST a recommened elective for an MCSA 2000?

I would like experience in both Win 2000 which I am using at work, and in XP which I use at home and will one dasy upgrade to at work.

OK, first thing I suggest is actually having a look at the MS website.

will give you the requirements for the MCSA on both 2000 and 2003. Now the bad news, the MCDST isn't a requirement for the MCSA.

I would suggest either the 70-210 (Win2k Pro) or 70-270 (XP Pro) exams to gain experience for the workstation side of things.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Well I have the 210 and 215 exams scheduled to sit at the start of November, fingers crossed.

My bad, right down at the bottom of the page alongside the Comptia stuff.
