I am currently running SS 9.8 on XP. I would like to know if there are any problems when running SS 9.8 on Vista.

I have had very good success running Smartsuite 9.8.1 under Vista SP1. The only trouble I have had is with the installation of ScreenCam. A sidenote: WordPro 9.8.x is fully compatible with Office 2000, but is incompatible with Office 2007 and basically any version of WordPerfect before version 8.0. If you are concerned about moving your files to Vista, you can create backups in some of the older formats I mentioned. IBM does have a solution document to the Vista question on its Lotus page, Document 21253536:

Basically, Smartsuite 9.8 works and is supported on the 32-bit version of Vista (< 2G RAM). On the other hand, they claim that Organizer and WordPro do not work and are non-supported on the 64-bit version.

Incidentally, I use Vista 64-bit and I have had no big problems (except with screencam and some hyperlinking codes within LotusScript). So, if you plan to do a lot of scripting or on screen instructional stuff, I would get further advice from someone who uses Organizer and WordPro in a more "mission critical" setting. I generally use these programs every day and they have never hung or crashed on me yet. As an aside, the free utilities that are offered on have also worked well for me and I highly recommend them to anybody. .
