Hi,
We are in process of migrating from SI 7.5 to BO XI and upgrade of SQL Server to 2005.
I was wondering if SI 7.5 is compatible with SQL Server 2005? As a simple test I pointed ODBC to new SQL 2005 box and ran report - which failed with following error:
PEStartPrintJob : Error detected by database DLL.

Can someone please confirm this?

Thanks a lot,

In general ODBC should always work.

It may be that the steps outlined in "As a simple test I pointed ODBC to new SQL 2005 box and ran report" need to include additional tasks.

Was this from an existing report, or a new one?

Try a new one first, if that works, try changing the ODBC setting, and then go into the report and use Database->Verify Database and see if that resolves.

Hi,
Sorry for being late to reply - was bz on other project. I tried new report - that works fine.
2nd - changed ODBC to new 2005 server. when I refresh report from its template it works fine but when I schedule it from INfo Desktop - fails with same error:
PEStartPrintJob : Error detected by database DLL.

Any input?? - thanks a lot for help

Perhaps you have a different ODBC driver on the box with Info Server?

I generally install Crystal Reports on the same box as the server as it returns more complete error messages.

Did you publish the report to a new location on the Info Server?

There shouldn't be anything too different between them...

Thanks for reply synapsevampire,
It works fine. I didnot change any set up. I was setting up ODBC wrong way.
My experience - seagate info 7.5 works perfect with SQL Server 2005.

Thanks for your help.
