Is Phone Manager 4.1 working on 4.2??.

I have an Question.

We have an Customer with an IP Office 412. We are upgrading this system from 4.1(15) to 4.2(11)

They have also 80 phone managers. Is it possible to use the phone manager 4.1 on the 4.2 system software for a few day's?. The Customer is going to upgrade the phonemanagers but this is going to take a couple of day's.

If it's not a problem we can do it this way.
 
Yes that is possible except for new features that came in 4.2 !

I did an upgrade from 4.2(2) to 4.2(11) and it broke the 4.2(2) equivalent phone manager. I guess more specifically it broke the IP softphone part of it. When you made a call, it would do nothing until I upgraded to the latest version.

Just a heads up.

The VoIP engine is changed during 4.2 to the SPServer.exe before the VoIP engine was the iClaritySvr.exe this one is only working with previous IPOffice core software and not with the new 4.2 core software. :)

In other words the IP softphone only works with the correct PhoneManger equivalent to the core software.
 
Is this also when your only using the phone manager as phone manager and not as soft phone??.

 
Yes, but than it has now influence. You can kill the SPServer without any problem, but default it is always running at startup.
 
I just tested with phone manager 4.1(20) on system core software 4.2(11) and I can make a call with phone manager

 
Just tested with PM 4.1.8 without any problem on IPO 4.2.11
 
Maybe ours was not working for some other reason, but it was not working, then after the upgrade it worked fine.
 
Thanks for your help. It's just for a couple of day's and I know that it's not supported.
