I had a debate at work about whether OK is an acronym (and thus spelled all upper-case), a word (and thus lower/mixed case), or neither (??).

Opinions?

In the book "Brain Droppings" by George Carlin, he talks about Acronyms.

OK, In my opinion, would be a colloquial abbreviation, although I don't know what it's an abbreviation of, other than the word "okay".

For something to be a true acronym, it has to be letters that can be pronounced. For example, "NASA" is an acronym, because the letters can be pronounced as a word. PTT (Push To Talk), is NOT an acronym, it's an abbreviation, because you can't pronounce PTT (well, I suppose if you made a raspberry sound... hehe)
