Is Nvidia TI4800 AGP 8X really AGP 8X? 1

Trying to find out if the GForce4 TI4800 AGP 8X graphics card is really an AGP card or is it a PCI card modified to run in an AGP slot?

A 4800Ti is nearly always a 4200Ti but with an 8x AGP interface so renamed (4800Ti)
So to my knowledge you cannot get a 4800Ti in PCI! because that would be contradicting the very reason it was named that way in the first place.

All GeForce's have been designed primarily for the AGP slot. The only time they adapted a PCI card to work in the AGP slot was when the AGP slot was first introduced, and that would have been cards with the Riva chips.

Once again I'm trying to sortout why my 8X AGP Card is not running properly.

I've tracked it down to the fact that the Intel CPU to AGP Controller does not appear to be installed on my Win98SE partition. I've downloaded the latest Intel INF Install and it refuses to install anything to do with AGP. All I have is the Standard PCI to PCI Bridge. Not sure if anyone out there has had the same problem. The dualboot into Win XP shows that it's installed OK on that OS so I assume the problem must be with 98 and the way it installs things but I am at a loss to crack it. Any ideas would be gratefully accepted.
