I have the backup library working fine for 3 years and now i am getting this error. Can you help? I have tried everything i know...

E 6304 Unexpected SCSI Sense Code ==> JobID[2835], Device[2], ABSL[2 0 1 0], SN[0], CMD[ah], [Write Error], ASC[0c], ASCQ[00]

Could be due to media just as much as the drive.

As per a SCSI Reference Manual.
0C 00 Write error - head sync error during write

If a record of the # of times the cleaning tape has been used then buy a new cleaning tape and clean the drive.

Then try a new tape.

If after that it still has a problem then chances are it is a drive problem.

Word to the wise, a more detailed question will receive a more detailed answer.

I have followed the standard document from CA, and i have sent the library to be serviced. We will see what happens next week. I had cleaned it with new tapes, try to write with new tapes as well...

Also i run the sony tape tool and it failed on reading and writing but not in connectivity... so i though the SCSI lead should be ok...

I will let u know of the outcome guys...
