Hi

I'm trying to discover whether my SCSI card is LVD or SE. Here's what I have so far:

/ $ lscfg |grep scsi
+ sisscsia1 U78A0.001.DNWGWZZ-P1-C5 PCI-XDDR Dual Channel Ultra320 SCSI Adapter
+ scsi2 U78A0.001.DNWGWZZ-P1-C5-T1 PCI-X Dual Channel Ultra320 SCSI Adapter bus
+ scsi3 U78A0.001.DNWGWZZ-P1-C5-T2 PCI-X Dual Channel Ultra320 SCSI Adapter bus

$ lsdev -p sisscsia1
scsi2 Available 01-08-00 PCI-X Dual Channel Ultra320 SCSI Adapter bus
scsi3 Available 01-08-01 PCI-X Dual Channel Ultra320 SCSI Adapter bus

$ lscfg -vpl scsi2
scsi2 U78A0.001.DNWGWZZ-P1-C5-T1 PCI-X Dual Channel Ultra320 SCSI Adapter bus

ROM Level.(alterable).......07130025
Customer Card ID Number.....571A

PLATFORM SPECIFIC

Name: scsi
Node: scsi@0
Device Type: scsi-2
Physical Location: U78A0.001.DNWGWZZ-P1-C5-T1

$ lsattr -El sisscsia1
bus_intr_lvl 289 Bus Interrupt Level False
bus_io_addr 0xfef00000 Bus IO Address False
intr_priority 3 Interrupt Priority False

Does anyone know how to determine which type of card I have?

Any Help Appreciated

Mick

$ lsattr -El scsi2
id 7
Host Adapter Bus SCSI ID True
max_bus_speed 320
Maximum SCSI Bus Speed in MB/s True
qas_capability Disable QAS (Quick Arbitration) Capability False
wide_enabled yes
Enable Wide SCSI bus True

What is printed on the adapter-frame next to the connectors?

My gut feeling says it is a dual bus Ultra320 LVD/SE SCSI adapter. Both types of devices/cables are compatible, but I don't think you can mix both type of devices on the same bus, or if you do, you'll limit speed and cabling length.

Plus, to connect SE devices, you'll need a special converter cable to match the different connector types.

Thanks for your help folks. The adapter label says 571A.

Yes definitely LVD / SE compatible, it has the little symbol on the card as well. thanks for all your help with this.

Best Regards

Mick
