My computer was working fine then it started making funny sounds while it was processing, the processing kept getting slower and the computer frooze. I restarted it and then it wouldn't even load into windows and kept making that weird sound while it was processing, it can't be my hard drive because I have two hard drives and neither will load the operating system. Please Help!

It could be alot of things but you don't have enough information here. If you are under warranty call the company you bought it from.

If it isn't under warranty then answer these questions to the best of your ability.

System and peripheral information would be a help

How much ram?
How much ram on the video card?
Speed of the CPU?
Have you installed any new software lately?
Do you run antivirus, trojan and adware programs?
Are you on the internet?
Is the power supply running?
Is the CPU fan running?
Have you stripped it down to nothing but one hard drive, video card to see if it will run that way?

I have seen one bad hard drive keep the other from booting. I have seen bad CD roms from letting the system boot. Battery could be bad. Ram could be bad...if you have two sticks take one out, try to boot, if that don't work try the other stick and try it again.

Anyway, this should be enough to keep you busy until someone else comes along with more questions or answers.

Acts like the fan on the CPU is bad. Sound could be either the fan bearings "squealing, or the fan is bad causing the CPU to overheat. This would both "throttle" the CPU (if Intel), and the BIOS will often "signal" if the CPU is overheated. First, check to see if the CPU fan is turning fast enough to "hum". Next, blow out (using the proper can of compressed air) all the dust.

The noise has got to be something to do with the freezing, it's just too coincidental otherwise.
Suspect:

Fan seizing up on CPU (CPU overheating, throttling back or just restarting due to the CPU reaching it's set restart temp)

Fan in the power supply seizing up and the PSU is overheating, hitting it's safety cut off temp.

The hard drive is in the final throws of imminent failure (this is normally clicking and high pitched squeeking noises.

The fan on the graphics card is seizing causing overheating, blue screen etc.

That a cap (resistor) on the motherboard is failing (indicated by swelling and often rust coloured substance appearing at the top of the cap)

Get the source of the noise located first and report back.
Check all the fans first, that they are free from dust and spinning correctly.

I think it is my hard drive maybe, because at this moment I am on my computer, but my smaller hard drive. so is it my bigger hard drive, the newer drive is messing up before the older one...go figure....but its strange, like it made that noise on this hard drive a few times also...and some of the processing seemed slower, but my cpu fan is running fine, and I have 3 other fans as well. My processor is a 900mhz AMD and the hard drive that is giving me problems is a ibm 26.8 GB drive, and the older hard drive is western digital 6 GB, could maybe my power supply be bad? because every now and then my cd-rw drive goes crazy opening and closing as it pleases.

Martin: "That a cap (resistor)"

There's a big difference between a capacitor and a resistor, both in size and function. I know that you know better than that - it must be getting late! <grin>

i'm so frustrated. i can get some files off of my main drive, but not the ones i want! my computer has been giving me lots of problems, and i dont have money to fix it every week...is it a virus? or is my hard drive really just screwed?..

I bet it is a Hp computer, if it is it is the PSU. most of the time it is a psu.

Capacitors not resistors.

You are rite micker337, it is often gone 2am in the morning when I post. [morning]

This guy has some good examples.
