I need to download some drivers, but there are two versions a 32 bit and 64 bit.

Windows doesn't look any different to earlier versions, but they told me in the shop that it would have a 64 bit processor.

How can i tell what I'm really running?

Btw my motherboard is a:
Asus P5L 1394

I believe if you Right click on My Computer and select Properties in the General tab, it should tell you.
If it doesn't say, then its 32 bit. It should say 64 if its 64.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

What is it that you are trying to figure out? I have a 64 bit processor, but am running 32 bit Windows XP. "My Computer" doesn't say anything. I have to run "CBID" program to see what processor I am running.

The point is: Practically ALL new processors are 64bit compatible (which means they can run a 64bit operating system) your motherboard, by virtue of the fact that it is a fairly recent product, is also 64bit compatible.
You also know that the retailer fitted a 64bit CPU.
But this most certainly DOES NOT mean the OS installed is a 64bit version!
Reality is: retailers rarely install 64bit operating systems (unless it is specifically requested) because they want an easy life! this is because driver and software support for 64bit operating systems is not as extensive so many periferals and software would not work.

Ok, i think i understand better now.

And the driver is working. :)

Thanks!

As a general rule, if you have to ask then you're running 32-bit. It's still the default, and you would typically have to specifically ask for a 64-bit version to get it from a vendor. For the most part, the only people who would do that are the folks who need more than 4GB of RAM.
