IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE A SNAP SHOT OF A WINDOWS NT SERVER FILE?

Yes.

Symantec's Norton Ghost v5.1 works very well with NT4 SP4.

Shut down the server, add a second hdd (same size as the boot drive) and boot with a dos disk. Run Ghost (from a floppy) and write disk 1 to a file on disk 2. This will produce a *.gho file which is a bit image of the original disk.

I regularly backup my 2 NT servers this way. I use high compression and the 1.5G drives pack down to about 550Mb - small enough to fit on a CD.
Hope this helps.
