We have the occasional workstation that has the wrong date format (US instead of UK) which means that they do not show up on some of our statistics, as the date format is not recognised or somehow disregarded.

Is there a way to force users or PCs to use the UK date format? The only related Group Policy setting I can find is for language, and the nearest option is US English which isn't what we want anyway.

Download the Windows Server 2003 reskit tools (from here:
There is a tool called timezone.exe which can be used in a script (a startup script may work or in the logon script if your users have the right permissions).

..."Control.exe TIMEDATE.CPL,,/Z (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada); Tijuana

alternatively:
RUNDLL32.EXE SHELL32.DLL,Control_RunDLL TIMEDATE.CPL,,/Z (GMT-08:00) Pacific
Time (US & Canada); Tijuana

where '(GMT-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada); Tijuana' is the timezone to be
set. "

or rather

Yup, I just put this in the logon scripts...
REG add "HKCU\Control Panel\International" /v sShortDate /t REG_SZ /d "yyyy-MM-dd" /f

Thanks! Of course, it helps to know what you're googling for, I was stuck on the idea of using Group Policy alone... caught out again trying to rely on Microsoft!
