Is it possible to run access in hidden mode?

(I don't think it is but thought I'd ask)

writing an application in access and having a timer event running in the background but the db is actually hidden?

Is this possible?

Cheers,
Neemisha

Unless access was launched via automation (OLE) you can't change the UserControl nor the Visible properties, but the following is OK:
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdAppMinimize

Hope This Helps, PH.

What I want to achieve is have the form visible but the actual db itself minimised. Do you know how I could achieve this?

sorry, I sussed it out. I just need to use the command DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdAppMinimize and make my form pop up. thanks.

PHV... How would I launch access via automation (OLE)? Do you mean lauch one app from another?

Have a look at the CreateObject and/or GetObject functions.

Hope This Helps, PH.
