As the subject reads is it possible to build a configuration on a prologix without having all of the circuit boards installed? We have a client whose processor is on it's last leg as currently we cannot access the system from the SAT or any other method and all other attempts at reviving it have failed.
What I'm wondering is if we can use a replacement processor within a carrier and configure the system with a new processor only and then once all built swap the processor out with the failing unit onsite.
I know that if we can find a processor with the same software build we should be able to simply swap modules and reload the backup card but I have a feeling locating a matching unit is not going to be easy and am exploring all my options.

And unfortunately unless it becomes a last resort, absolutely no other option the customer is not looking to do any upgrades to another PBX. Even though an IP Office would be a perfect fit for them.

What is the processor circuit pack? What is the software load?
This is very simple to resolve.

But in answer to your ?? "yes" You can do that. All you need to do is go to "change circuit" and populate your other prologix with the identical circuit packs even though they aren't really there and then you can add stations, trunks etc;...save trans and your good to go !! Lot's of work though...Might want to get ahold of Tier 3 I'm sure he has an easier way :)

The only info I have is what was pulled form the Barcode on the processors. Software is V7, R7 Pkg J58
AS we don't have access to verify this is there another method we can use?

processor must be tn798B ? Correct ?
do you have the flash card from the system ?

Correct that it is a TN798B processor and while I don't have the flash card in hand it is in the switch and scheduled for daily backups
